Research shows that the most effective way to help people with dual recovery goals is by integrating treatment for mental illness and substance abuse. Laurel Hill Center's integrated services offer:
- Dual recovery housing (2-bedroom apartments; 2-and-3-bedroom duplexes)
- Dual diagnosis Anonymous, a drop-in, peer support program based on a version of the 12 steps of Alcoholics Anonymous with an additional five steps focusing on mental illness and substance abuse
- Finding my Way- A dual diagnosis educational group based upon the research of stages of change and harm reduction. Participants explore how substance use and mental illness impact each other, the pros and cons of substance use and identify strengths to assist them in achieving goals around substance use, whether it be abstinence or reducing the negative impact of substance abuse if not considering abstinence as a personal goal.
