Respite care staff provide additional support to people served by Laurel Hill Center's three interdisciplinary teams. During a crisis, they are an important link between the participant and outreach counselor. These part-time workers usually spend one or two nights with a person until the most serious part of the crisis is over. The service avoids the expense of hospitalization. Respite workers receive clinical supervision from team leaders.
