YOUR GIFT CAN CHANGE A LIFE

  • One more person can focus on recovery because they have a home.
  • One more person can start a new life after becoming employed.
  • One more child can learn skills for a satisfying and healthy future.
Your tax-deductible donations can be directed toward the programs below. THANK YOU!

Greatest Need Fund:

We very much appreciate general donations that enable Laurel Hill to direct support to where it’s needed most. Unspecified gifts are placed in this fund to help us build effective services that move people toward recovery…

  • New documented best practices could be adapted into a service advancing recovery…
  • Technology could free staff to spend more time assisting participants rather than doing paperwork…
  • People without medical coverage would like to participate in a Laurel Hill program… That’s when we turn to the Greatest Need Fund.
Immediate Need Fund:

Many Laurel Hill participants live on less than $700 a month; they often are unable to pay for unanticipated emergency  expenses…

  • A sudden cold snap finds a person unable to pay for a coat or unbudgeted utility expenses…
  • A job opportunity arises but a bus pass and work shoes are needed…
  • A family is about to move into affordable housing but is homeless while they wait… That’s when we turn to the Immediate Need Fund.
Vision Fund Rental and Utility Deposit Program:

Rental and utility deposits are often the barrier  to housing when Recovery Specialists work with homeless people.

  • A Laurel Hill Recovery Specialist has helped a homeless person find an apartment he can afford but there  is no money for the rental deposit…
  • A homeless participant is assisted in locating housing but past difficulties in paying for utility bills require a financial deposit… That’s when we turn to the Deposit Program.
Wellness Programs Fund:

Recover the Healthy You helps participants develop wellness behaviors that help prevent the serious diseases people with mental illnesses disproportionately experience; Healthy Parents/Healthy Kids assists children of  parents with mental Illnesses in developing emotional/physical health, while parents learn to nurture family wellness.

  • The child of a parent with mental illness is anxious and depressed, with worries about the stigma  that often accompanies psychiatric disorders; her parent wants to help her but doesn’t know how…
  • A person whose medication has caused them to experience weight gain and lethargy is at high risk of developing diabetes. They need supervised support to lose weight and exercise… That’s when we turn to  the Wellness Programs Fund.
Paul Manion Pathways Fund:

The late Paul Manion was an early peer advocate on behalf of people with mental illness and a long-time Laurel Hill volunteer. He was active in establishing our Pathways Learning Center and embodied its purpose. This fund is a tribute to all Paul contributed to Laurel Hill and to his peers.

  • A person wants to learn how to avoid having mental illness define her life…
  • Someone else want to improve his ability to be with other people in a safe environment…
  • Neither of these people have the health coverage for the costs involved… That’s when we turn to the Paul Manion Pathways Fund.

OUR THANKS TO ALL WHO SUPPORT LAUREL HILL CENTER!
